Satisfaction of oral hygiene devices by the removal of halitosis

Abstract

|
Objectives : The purpose of the study is to investigate the relationship between the removal of halitosis and use of oral hygiene devices.
Methods : A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 300 patients visiting to dental clinics in Gyeonggi-do from May to June, 2013. The questionnaire consisted of general characteristics, oral health related characteristics, satisfaction of oral hygiene devices were measured.
Results :Halitosis accounted for 11.0% in dental clinic visit. In order to remove halitosis, dental floss is the most satisfactory and effective method of all auxiliary oral hygiene devices.
Conclusions : A variety of auxiliary oral hygiene devices are being sold and used to remove halitosis. It is important to choose the most effective oral hygiene devices to remove halitosis.
